An Emerging Vision – A Women’s Learning Community

During the tour, Ani Choyang will also share the evolving vision of Jangchub Choeling Nunnery and its international community of supporters.

This vision includes the development of a global learning community centered on:

  • Exchange and learning across cultures and traditions
  • Opportunities for women to teach, study, and practice together across contexts
  • Continued study of Buddhist philosophy alongside dialogue with scientific inquiry
  • The sharing of knowledge, skills, and lived experience across communities

Rather than a fixed destination. this is an ongoing process, one shaped by relationship, participation, and care.

Tour Offerings

The Hidden Happiness Tour offers an opportunity not only tolearn, but to be in conversation and shared presence.

Each gathering may take a slightly different form depending on the setting, but offerings may include:

  • Science and Buddhism – Inspired by the Dalai Lama’s long-standing commitment to dialogue between contemplative traditions and scientific inquiry, these sessions explore how different ways of knowing can inform one another. Ani Choyang, drawing from her engagement with contemporary research, will open space for inquiry into where these traditions converge, where they differ, and what may emerge from their meeting.
  • Buddhist Philosophy and Practice -Teachings grounded in classical texts such as the 37 Practices of the Bodhisattva, offered as living guidance rather than abstract philosophy. These sessions may include reflection, analytic meditation, and opportunities for dialogue.
  • Buddhist Spiritual Exploration – Open-Hearted inquiry into the nature of mind, and accessible space to explore questions of mind, compassion, and awareness. No prior experience is needed, only a willingness to listen and reflect.
  • Dream Yoga – An introduction to an ancient contemplative practice that extends awareness into sleep and dreaming. Ani Choyang will share both traditional perspectives and her dialogue with contemporary sleep research, offering a bridge between ancient practice and modern inquiry.

About the Nunnery and its Vision

Jangchub Choeling is an institution established by Dalai Lama.

The nunnery is home to over 340 nuns and continues to grow as a center for the study of Buddhist philosophy and its
dialogue with contemporary science.

Jangchub Choeling Nunnery is gradually unfolding as an international space for learning and practice – a place where nuns and practitioners from different parts of the world may come together to study, reflect, and deepen their understanding. This tour is one small expression of that unfolding.

A Shared Invitation

This is a rare opportunity to sit with and learn from Tibetan Buddhist nuns whose lives are dedicated to practice, study, and the cultivation of compassion.

We hope you will join us, not only to learn, but to listen, to reflect, and perhaps to discover something quietly present within your own experience.
